10 hospitals that perform the most heart transplants

Surgeons in the U.S. performed 2,819 heart transplants in 2015, and patient mortality following heart transplants has declined, according to a 2015 annual data report published in the American Journal of Transplantation in January 2017.

Here are the 10 hospitals where the most heart transplants were performed between July 2015 and June 2016, according to the Scientific Registry of Transplant Recipients. SRTR analyzes data from the Organ Procurement Transplant Network on every solid organ procurement organization and transplant program in the U.S.

Stanford (Calif.) Heart Care — 68

Vanderbilt University Medical Center and Nashville (Tenn.) VA Medical Center — 66

Baylor University Medical Center (Dallas) — 66
