Among the nurses’ complaints were allegations that Bozeman Deaconess management denied nurses’ requests to have a Montana Nurses Association representative at meetings with their supervisors and also prohibited employees from discussing internal investigations.
The hospital has said two of the three complaints involved a medication error, and nurses’ meetings with supervisors for the matter were “not disciplinary in nature,” according to the report. Thus, the hospital said it did not consider them subject to rules regarding unfair labor practices.
As part of the settlement, Bozeman Deaconess agreed to honor requests for union representation during meetings with employees and removing policies that prohibit employees from speaking about internal investigations, according to the report.
