Teen charged in assault of Illinois hospital workers

A teenager is facing charges after police said she hit three employees in Jacksonville (Ill.) Memorial Hospital on Nov. 7, according to a report from the Journal Courier

The 16-year-old girl presented to the hospital for an unspecified treatment but fled the facility, "battering three employees in the process," according to the local news outlet and police report.

The teen faces aggravated assault charges and burglary charges. The latter is tied to the teenager's break-in of a nearby baseball complex after she fled the hospital, where she stole several bottles of liquor, according to police.

Jacksonville Memorial is a 93-bed hospital in West Central Illinois.
