The lawsuit alleged the ACA violated the origination clause of the Constitution, which requires all revenue-raising bills to start in the House. The plaintiffs argued the ACA’s individual mandate raised revenue and the law got its start in the Senate, according to the report.
The Supreme Court has previously upheld the ACA twice, and will hear another case later this year about the ACA’s contraceptive mandate, according to the report.
