Providers Must Disclose Prices of Common Procedures Under New Wisconsin Bill

Wisconsin Gov. Jim Doyle has signed legislation that requires hospitals, physicians and other healthcare providers to disclose the cost of the most common procedures they perform so consumers have price-estimates before choosing a provider, according to a release by Gov. Doyle.

The Health Care Transparency Bill is “a practical step forward that will help people better understand what their health care costs are before making important healthcare decisions,” Gov. Doyle stated.
