Police arrest North Carolina hospital employee who allegedly stole $20k in medical supplies to sell on eBay

Police arrested a clinical services technician at Raleigh, N.C.-based WakeMed last week for allegedly stealing $20,000 worth of medical supplies and selling some of the products on eBay, reports WRAL.

The hospital's police force caught the former pathology department worker Bill Baez Jr. selling hospital medical supplies, including thermometers and blood collection kits, on eBay.

Immediately after hospital officials were alerted about the supplies on eBay, Mr. Baez was fired from his position. He was already on probation for 12 counts of soliciting identity theft and eight counts of financial card fraud, according to the report.

Mr. Baez was arrested Jan. 30 on a felony charge of larceny by an employee.
