Raad Kouza and his brother, Ramis Kouza, were found guilty of billing Medicare, Medicaid and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan for prescription medications they did not dispense at pharmacies they owned or operated in the state, according to a Nov. 8 Justice Department news release.
Both men were convicted by a federal jury of conspiracy to commit healthcare fraud and wire fraud, according to the release. Raad Kouza was also convicted of one count of healthcare fraud.
Raad Kouza faces a maximum of 30 years in prison, and Ramis Kouza faces up to 20 years in prison. Sentencing dates have not yet been set.
