Pennsylvania physician settles COVID-19 vaccine false claims case

Pennsylvania physician Musaddiq Nazeeri, MD, is paying $86,506 to resolve alleged False Claims Act violations, the Justice Department said Nov. 28.

Between Feb. 10, 2021 and Jan. 21, 2022, Dr. Nazeeri allegedly billed Medicare for medically unnecessary services, the Justice Department said. He allegedly submitted evaluation and management claims when he was only administering COVID-19 vaccines.

Dr. Nazeeri cooperated with the investigation, the department said.
