Patient tries to stab security guard in West Virginia ER

A homeless patient attempted to stab a security guard in the emergency room of CharlestonCenter General Hospital Sunday morning, according to WSAZ.

As the patient was scheduled to be released from the emergency room, he reportedly took out a knife and lunged at a security guard. Multiple guards disarmed him until police arrived. No one was injured, WSAZ reports.

The man is charged with attempted malicious wounding, which carries a 10-year sentence if convicted.
