North Carolina woman charged with stealing $104k from Mission Hospital

A former employee is accused of embezzling $103,870.60 from Asheville, N.C.-based Mission Hospital, according to the Asheville Citizen-Times.

Meagan Price Mintz, 32, is charged with stealing the money by using a procurement card, the publication states, citing her arrest warrant issued March 28. The arrest warrant lists Dec. 27, 2017 as the date of the alleged crime.

A Mission Health spokesperson confirmed Ms. Mintz's previous employment to the Asheville Citizen-Times but did not provide further information due to the active police investigation.

The publication was not able to immediately reach Ms. Mintz April 7 at the phone number provided to police.

Law enforcement has charged Ms. Mintz with one felony count of embezzling more than $100,000. She could face at least three years and eight months in prison if convicted.
