Under the new law, hospitals will be required to publicly disclose the numbers of licensed and unlicensed nursing personnel that provide patient care. Hospitals will also be required to report the methods they use to determine and adjust staffing levels, according to the report.

The hospital is one of 60 bills Gov. Paterson signed into law on Sept. 17. Hospitals in the state had lobbied against the reporting requirements.
