A Minnesota psychologist has pleaded guilty to defrauding Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota and the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community, the Justice Department said Dec. 1.
Charles Jorenby, 57, owned Life Dynamics in Prior Lake, Minn. The Justice Department said from 2013 to 2020, Mr. Jorenby billed BCBS Minnesota for fraudulent treatment of 29 members of the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community.
Mr. Jorenby never provided counseling services to those individuals, and used their names and birth dates without their knowledge or permission. The fraudulent bills added up to at least $555,000, the Justice Department said.
Mr. Jorenby is scheduled to be sentenced April 27.
