Memphis counseling service billed $300k in fraudulent services

The owner of the Memphis-based Rainbow Center for Children and Adolescents pleaded guilty to one count of healthcare fraud after billing the state Medicaid program more than $300,000, according to the Greenville Sun.

According to a statement by the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Vicky Fox used a former employee’s provider number to bill for phantom services between 2012 and 2014.

The state launched an investigation in 2014 following a request from Medicaid officials.

Ms. Fox’s sentencing is scheduled to take place in November.
