Mr. Funk, 33, allegedly took trips to the hospital’s emergency room with the goal of scamming the hospital to obtain drugs such as hydrocodone, oxycodone and tramadol.
He was first caught using a fake name May 18, police said. An investigation by the Cherokee Multi-Agency Narcotics Squad discovered that he regularly made trips to the hospital.
Mr. Funk is being held in Bartow County Jail. He faces 79 felony charges.
