The plaintiffs claim the changes made in 2012 to Illinois’ revenue code unconstitutionally broadened the definition of charity care and what hospitals must do to qualify for tax exemptions.
The lawsuit names the Illinois Department of Revenue and its director, Brian Hamer, as defendants.
