1. An Alabama physician was sentenced to 16 months in prison for a $2.7 million telemedicine fraud scheme involving medically unnecessary durable medical equipment and genetic testing.
2. A Florida physician pleaded guilty to making false statements in connection with a multimillion-dollar healthcare fraud scheme involving medically unnecessary genetic testing and durable medical equipment.
3. A Greenbelt, Md.-based vascular company and its physician CEO agreed to pay $4 million to resolve allegations of billing federal healthcare programs for medically unnecessary procedures.
4. An Anchorage physician was sentenced to six and a half years in prison for a $12.5 million healthcare fraud scheme and evading more than $4 million in taxes.
5. A California medical center was shuttered and its owner charged with an $11 million fraud scheme.
