Ex-Butler Health System COO allegedly misappropriated funds

Officials at Butler (Pa.) Health System have notified state and federal investigators about possible misappropriation of funds by one of its former executives, according to the Tribune-Review.

"In mid-2017, Butler Health System discovered evidence of a fraud committed by a single individual against the hospital," a spokeswoman told the Tribune-Review. "The evidence suggested the hospital's former COO had been misappropriating administrative funds."

The health system did not name the former COO allegedly involved in the incident.

Butler Health System has improved its financial safeguards to prevent a similar issue from occurring in the future, according to the report.

The health system recently named Jason Sciarro COO. He replaced Stephanie Roskovski, according to ButlerRadio.com
