Recently filed in a California Superior Court, the lawsuit alleges Anthem Blue Cross engaged in “unethical, immoral, oppressive and unscrupulous” behavior for its own benefit, according to JD Supra.
The lawsuit alleges Anthem Blue Cross has created narrow networks for its Covered California plans at the expense of patient access and solely for profit, according to the report. As evidence, the plaintiff alleges Blue Cross first rejected him from its provider network without explanation in October 2013, and then rejected him again in December 2015 because it wanted to preserve its narrow network, according to the report.
Blue Cross disputes the allegations and said it carefully reviews its networks to ensure patients have access to physicians, according to the report.
