On July 2, 2025, Becker’s Hospital Review published an article titled “5 nursing home, hospice operators charged in federal crackdown,” which referenced a group of individuals charged with fraudulent Medicare billing activities. In that article, we mistakenly stated that these individuals were associated with Care Plus Hospice, located in Laguna Hills, California.
We wish to clarify that this was an error. The individuals named in the federal complaint were affiliated with a separate entity named Careplus Hospice, Inc., and not with Care Plus Hospice in Laguna Hills.
Care Plus Hospice in Laguna Hills has no connection whatsoever to the individuals or activities described in the July 2 article. The company operates independently and was not involved in any of the alleged fraudulent conduct referenced in the federal or state filings.
