CMS Rules Closing Long-Term Care Facilities Must Give 60 Days’ Notice

CMS issued a final rule today that requires long-term care facilities to grant 60 days’ advance written notice and a plan to relocate patients before closing.

The latest ruling, effective April 18, is only an update on an interim rule released in February required by the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.
