The Cleveland Clinic has been operating the financially strapped hospital since the takeover in 1997. Cleveland Clinic announced it would close Huron Hospital due to an estimated $4 million in yearly losses, according to the report.
Doctors will continue to see patients at Huron Hospital for outpatient care through Oct. 3, when the new Cleveland Clinic Huron Community Health Center opens. For specialty or inpatient care not offered at Cleveland Clinic Huron Community Health Center, patients will be shuttled to other Cleveland Clinic facilities for free.
