The suit, filed by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission on the applicant’s behalf, alleged the hospital violated the Americans with Disabilities Act by withdrawing the job offer.
As part of the settlement, the hospital has also agreed to ensure all employees involved in hiring are trained on ADA requirements and will report to the EEOC each time a person is denied employment after a medical screening.
The hospital said in a statement it “proactively accommodate[s] disabled employees without hesitation,” according to the report.
