Under the bill, a commission of medical providers, insurers and consumers would establish standards for healthcare providers that want to develop a medical home.
The models would be protected from antitrust lawsuits because there is a state purpose in encouraging medical homes, according to a chief counsel for Missouri’s state auditor, whose office developed the bill.
No one testified against the bill, according to the report, but the Senate Public Health Committee took no immediate action on the measure.
