In 2011, roughly 32.5 million people enrolled in traditional Medicare received at least one free preventive benefit, which include cancer screenings and the newly installed annual wellness visit.
“Thanks to the healthcare law, millions of Americans are getting cancer screenings, mammograms and other preventive services for free,” said CMS Acting Administrator Marilyn Tavenner in a news release. “These free preventive services are helping people in Medicare stay healthy and lower their healthcare costs.”
