The system plans to close one of its hospice units in Ewa Oahu by Sept. 30 and cease offering a home health program that served patients on Oahu and Kauai by June 30, according to the report.
Employees affected by the layoffs will include clinical personnel as well as administrators.
“What St. Francis did was look at all various service lines, and certainly financial sustainability was one of the drivers that was a factor in making the difficult decision of which ones to operate,” a system spokesman told Pacific Business News.
