Parkview Whitley Hospital Sells 2 Properties, Will Lay Off 52

Columbia City, Ind.-based Parkview Whitley Hospital has sold a skilled nursing facility and assisted living center to Miller’s Merry Manor, which provides rehabilitation services, assisted living and long-term nursing care, according to a WANE report.

As a result of the sale of the two Columbia City-based facilities, 52 Parkview Whitley employees will be laid off. However, Miller’s Merry Manor may employ some of the affected workers, according to the report.

The 52 employees represent 26 percent of Parkview Whitley’s workforce. They will be offered severance benefits and transition programs. The layoffs will be effective between Sept. 1 and Sept. 14, according to the report.
