North Shore-LIJ, Access Clinical Partners to open 50 urgent care centers

Great Neck, N.Y.-based North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System has partnered with Access Clinical Partners — which specializes in developing and operating urgent care facilities — to develop a network of 50 urgent care centers in the New York City area during the next three years.

The first North Shore-LIJ-GoHealth Urgent Care locations will open in November in the Forest Hills neighborhood in Queens and Massapequa in Long Island. Another 13 centers will open in 2015, and the remaining locations will launch during the next few years, until a total of 50 centers are in operation by 2018.

The GoHealth centers will be open seven days per week and will be staffed by teams of physicians and medical providers who will administer care according to North Shore-LIJ clinical standards. In addition to urgent care, the centers will provide services included on-site imaging, laboratory services, seasonal flu shots, immunizations and sports physicals. The centers will also help patients who require additional care receive the services they need through North Shore-LIJ's broader network.
