The 230-bed for-profit hospital has an average of roughly 25 inpatients after its patient count has fallen more than 30 percent since May. Meadowlands had a staff-to-patient ratio of 17.1 to 1, while the industry average is 4.72, according to the report.
Additionally, a mandated review of the hospital’s finances done by Executive Resources found the hospital operated without a budget in 2013 and is in financial disarray. The report was delivered to the state health department in June and was released this week.
Meadowlands Hospital’s President and CEO Thomas Considine joined the facility in May. He wrote a letter to employees saying he expects an “upturn in the fourth quarter of this year” and that 2015 will be “great,” according to the report.
