Mayo Clinic is contracting with Madison, Wis.-based Amphion Medical Solutions for its transcription services. The services will be completely shifted to the company by Nov. 1, according to the report.
Amphion has said it was willing to hire the affected Mayo employees, and the transcriptionists can also apply for other positions within the Mayo Clinic system, according to the report.
Outsourcing transcription services will save Mayo Clinic about 40 percent of its transcription costs.
