Beacham Memorial Hospital Closes Outpatient Clinic

Beacham Memorial Hospital in Magnolia, Miss., closed its outpatient clinic in Osyka, Miss., resulting in three layoffs, according to a report by The Clarion-Ledger.

In addition to closing the clinic, about 100 of the hospital’s employees will see a reduction in hours, and two or three are voluntarily leaving their jobs at the main hospital, according to the report.

The main reason for the cost-cutting measures is reductions in Medicare reimbursement. About 85 percent of the patients treated at Beacham Memorial are Medicare beneficiaries.
