The lab’s turnaround time is 24-48 hours from the time a sample arrives, Todos Medical said Aug. 26. The saliva test is intended for suspected cases of monkeypox without lesions.
For cases showing legions, Todos Medical said it is still recommended to test both saliva and lesions to determine whether lesions contain the virus and whether the saliva sample is representative of the systemic active infection.
