The turnaround time for test results is less than 24 hours, the report said. Sparrow had been using the state lab, which typically took more than a day to get patients their results.
Sparrow’s lab is testing for all orthopoxvirus, the report said. Positive tests trigger a more specific test for monkeypox.
Samples can be taken at any of the health system’s labs, emergency rooms or urgent care facilities in mid-Michigan, the report said.
