Disruption forces Minnesota lab to send COVID-19 tests to New Jersey

An Oakdale, Minn. lab owned by Piscataway, N.J.-based Infinity BiologiX experienced an unspecified disruption in services over the weekend of Oct. 16-17, according to Saint Paul, Minn., ABC affiliate KSTP.

 Because of the disruption, COVID-19 tests that the lab would typically handle were instead flown to an IBX lab in New Jersey.

The adjustment isn’t expected to “significantly” increase the time needed for results, according to a spokesperson from New York City-based Vault Health, which collects samples and provides testing support at Minnesota Department of Health community sites.
