Defense Department orders 104M more home COVID-19 tests from iHealth Lab

The Defense Department said Jan. 26 that it ordered more than 104 million additional COVID-19 home test kits from Mountain View, Calif.-based iHealth Labs.

The order brings the total number of kits the DOD has ordered from the lab, which is part of Chinese medical product manufacturer Andon Health, to more than 350 million, according to a Jan. 31 MedTechDive report. IHealth Labs sells their COVID-19 rapid antigen tests to consumers for $8.99 each.

The company is producing around 200 million tests per month, according to the report. It aims to double its production in February.
