Job Opening: Ohio State Medical Association Chief Executive Officer
The Ohio State Medical Association (OSMA) is dedicated to empowering physicians, residents and medical students to advocate on behalf of their patients and profession.
The OSMA is a 501(c)(6) statewide professional association headquartered in Columbus, Ohio, and has approximately 15,000 active, student and resident members. The organization has an annual operating budget of approximately $6 million and employs 22 professional staff and 5 administrative staff responsible for administration, communications, education, governance, government affairs, human resources, legal services, meeting management, membership and payer relations. This CEO position provides strategic leadership, direction and management of the business affairs of the OSMA. Specifically, the CEO:
- Manages the internal operations, staff and budget of the OSMA
- Oversees development and delivery of member services
- Serves as chief liaison to OSMA Officers, Council (governing board) and House of Delegates and county medical societies
- Works with the OSMA Council to create and implement OSMA strategic goals
- Represents the Association to external organizations such as the Ohio Hospital Association, AMA, specialty, and county/regional medical societies.
- Supervises OSMA outreach activities including, but not limited to, advocacy, education and partner relations.
Required skills and experience
- Undergraduate degree from an accredited institution of higher learning required Master's degree or ten years of relevant experience preferred
- Minimum of five years of business or nonprofit experience
- Demonstrated communication and collaboration skills
- Demonstrated digital competency with social media, meeting and customer relations platforms
