The VR training exercises include the world’s first arthroscopic meniscus repair, and a new module to simulate a total knee arthroplasty is slated to be released in October, according to the Sept. 21 news release from the company. Smith+Nephew said it hopes the training builds real-life surgical good habits and improves patient outcomes.

A Smith+Nephew survey of participants in the virtual reality program showed that 90 percent of participants wanted more VR training, the release said.
