Newark, Ohio-based Licking Memorial Health Systems has partnered with InVita Healthcare Technologies and Lifeline of Ohio to launch a platform that can help identify potential organ, tissue and eye donors.
The platform, dubbed iReferral, aims to replace telephonic referral processes with an electronic system that can be integrated into clinicians workflows, according to a Jan. 30 release from InVita.
The platform, available via the Epic EMR Connection Hub, works by streamlining the organ and tissue donation referral process.
"The automation offered through iReferral expedites the donor referral process allowing our healthcare providers to spend more time with the patient and their family during the most stressful of times while securing positive outcomes for transplant recipients," said Heather Burkhart, vice president of acute care services of Licking Memorial Health Systems.
