NYU Langone Health to commercialize biomedical discoveries

NYU Langone Health, based in New York City, is partnering with healthcare investment firm Deerfield Management Company to commercialize its biomedical discoveries.

Deerfield Management Company committed $130 million over the next 10 years to support the new company, Amethyst Innovations, which will be wholly owned by Deerfield affiliates, according to a June 6 press release from Deerfield. The aim of the company is to partner with the health system to advance its research projects that focus on drug exploration and development.  

The collaboration will lean on NYU Langone’s internal drug accelerator, Therapeutics Alliances, for creations.
