Illinois health system invests in $25M round for AI-driven clinical tool

Peoria, Ill.-based OSF HealthCare participated in a $25 million growth financing round for Pieces Technologies, a healthcare AI research and development firm offering a clinical generative AI solution.

According to a Sept. 10 news release, Pieces uses AI to streamline clinical workflows and reduce provider workload by automatically generating clinical documentation for care teams.

The company reports having produced over 5.4 million inpatient clinical summaries for various health systems.

Others participating in the growth financing round include Children’s Health, Concord Health Partners and Rittenhouse Ventures.
