The fund will primarily target mid- to late-stage life science companies. Since its 2012 founding, Cowen has invested in more than 60 healthcare companies, according to a May 3 Cowen Healthcare news release.
“With Cowen Healthcare Investments expanding its investment tools to now allow it to invest in the public markets, this new fund, CHI IV, will further capture value creation opportunities by seizing upon attractive entry points generated by regular market volatility,” Elizabeth Flisser Rosman, head of Cowen Investment Management, said in the release.
