The innovation center will add an additional 41,000 square feet of clinical and classroom space for Concordia’s nursing program. The center was introduced to serve Concordia’s recently expanded nursing degree offerings and to complement the Concordia Nursing Skills Center, which opened in spring 2017.
The facility will also serve as the Columbia River Campus’ hub for the Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing program, which was expanded in the past year following approval from the Oregon State Board of Nursing. The program fast-tracks students into the nursing profession, relying on a combination of online learning, hands-on practice in a simulation lab and clinical rotations at healthcare facilities across Portland.
