The Tiger Institute for Health Innovation was established in 2009 as part of MU Health Care’s long-term relationship with Cerner’s health information technology management services model, IT Works. The partnership aims to bring digital technologies to MU Health Care locations to support quality care and improve patient safety.
More than 120,000 MU Health Care patients have enrolled in Tiger Institute’s Health Connect mobile application, which allows users to schedule appointments and communicate with health providers, among other functions.
In recent years, Tiger Institute began sharing its EHR and patient portal functionalities with Osage Beach, Mo.-based Lake Regional Health System and Jefferson City, Mo.-based Capital Region Medical Center.
