The Health Management Academy surveyed 40 executives from 40 leading health systems and found:
- Almost half of all executives reported that they are using AI at their organizations to tackle workforce challenges.
- Fifty-percent reported that their health system is currently evaluating or considering AI-based tools to combat workforce challenges.
- Typical AI investments go toward back-office processes, clinical operations and clinical care.
- Seventy-eight percent of executives reported that they are currently evaluating or considering AI-based tools for its revenue cycle management processes.
- Twenty-seven percent of executives said they are using conversational AI at their health systems, while 72 percent said they are considering it.
- Fifteen percent of executives said their health system is using AI for nursing.
