Dr. Meredith Hulsey returns to Texas' Medical Center Hospital as chief medical officer

Meredith Hulsey, DO, has been named chief medical officer at Odessa, Texas-based Medical Center Hospital, according to Odessa American. Dr. Hulsey, a pathologist, was trained at MCH; she returned Jan. 3 to begin her new role, after five years away.

MCH hasn't had a CMO for three years. "You have the new issues coming up, but then you have all the past that you’re trying to rectify also. It’s a lot but I’ve really enjoyed every minute of it," she said in a March 31 report.

Dr. Hulsey said her first goal in her new position is to focus on physician engagement. "The hospital is run on the backbone of physicians that need to be involved in all the decisions for improvement of quality and the patients’ safety, which are my two big areas that I always am striving for."
