Hospitals and unions: 4 recent conflicts, agreements

Becker’s Hospital Review reported the following hospital-union events since Nov. 15.

1. Registered nurses at Shore Medical Center in Somers Point, N.J., went on strike Nov. 26 amid contract negotiations.

2. Registered nurses at eight Tenet Healthcare hospitals in California approved a master contract.

3. University of Chicago Medical Center and the union representing about 2,200 of its nurses reached a tentative agreement.

4. Healthcare workers went on strike Nov. 20 at four hospitals in Renton, Wash.-based Providence St. Joseph Health’s Northern California region.
