Physician assistant tops list of fastest-growing flexible jobs. What other healthcare positions made the list?

Most of the top five fastest-growing jobs with flexible work options are within the healthcare industry, according to an analysis from online job service FlexJobs.

For the analysis, FlexJobs took the most recent data on the fastest-growing occupations from the Bureau of Labor Statistics and compared it to jobs in its database.

Here are the top five occupations with the highest percent change of employment by 2026 that also offer flexible work options, as stated in the analysis. The occupations are ranked from highest to lowest based on percentage of projected growth between 2016 and 2026. They also include the 2016 median salary.

1. Physician assistants (37 percent) ($101,480)

2. Nurse practitioners (36 percent) ($100,910)

3. Physical therapist assistants (31 percent) ($56,610)

4. Software developers, applications (30 percent) ($100,080)

5. Mathematicians (29 percent) ($105,810)
