Hospital workers at St. Christopher’s, Delaware County Memorial vote to unionize

Service workers at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children in Philadelphia and Delaware County Memorial Hospital in Drexel Hill, Pa., have voted to join District 1199C, according to a Philadelphia Business Journal report.

Among the 236 eligible workers at St. Christopher’s, the vote was 161-7 in favor of unionization, the union said, according to the report. Among the 203 eligible workers at Delaware County Memorial Hospital, the vote was 95-60.

District 1199C already represents employees such as cafeteria workers, laundry workers, maintenance staff and other service employees at eight Philadelphia area hospitals, the report states.
