Geisinger includes nearly 6,000 nurses and plans to recruit several hundred additional nurses. The new nursing institute will oversee the practice and education of nurses at Geisinger to ensure they are represented in the organization and in leadership positions.

The institute will provide Geisinger nurses “more support, tools and skills they need to do their jobs,” said Susan Robel, BSN, RN, Geisinger’s executive vice president and CNO.

“The Geisinger Nursing Institute reinforces our prominent nursing reputation and will serve as a beacon to attract new nurses to the Geisinger family,” said David T. Feinberg, MD, Geisinger president and CEO.
