Atos to double DFW employee numbers after Anthelio acquisition

Atos, a French IT company, plans to have as many as 2,000 employees in the Dallas-Fort Worth area within the next five years, reports Dallas Business Journal.

This plan follows the company's recent acquisition of Dallas-based Anthelio Healthcare Solutions for $275 million. Atos announced the acquisition Monday.

Right now, Atos employs about 900 people in Dallas, according to the article. Anthelio, which offers IT services to physician practices, hospitals and healthcare providers, including Oakland, Calif.-based Kaiser Permanente and Plano, Texas-based LHP Hospital Group, employs about 100 people in Dallas.

After the Anthelio acquisition, Atos plans to bring as many as 200 jobs to the area per year over each of the next five years, reports Dallas Business Journal.

The company's North American president, Chad Harris, told the publication Atos will have the office space for the new employees, and in December will move its regional operation to a 100,000-square-feet space in Irving, Texas.

"We have 40,000 square feet on reserve, which we expect to take down pretty quickly," Mr. Harris said.
