The workforce changes come as Womack attempts to cut its budget for its fiscal year 2014, which starts Oct. 1, according to the report.

“We are closely looking at all positions to ensure the least amount of impact on employees and patient care as these positions are considered above our current civilian personnel authorizations,” the hospital said in a statement, according to the Fay Observer.

Layoffs are considered a “last resort,” the hospital said in the report, and Womack will attempt to place employees in vacant positions.
